iron type clubs should I buy?
I am a beginner golfer, I would buy my first set of golf clubs for extra practice and improve my game. I've been thinking about R9 TaylorMade or Callaway X-22, but do not know what type of purchase. Im 22 years old. My guess is that I buy the steel and not graphite and must be rigid, non-regular or Flex. Please tell me if I'm right or not. I put the links, please tell me what options I choose. Furthermore, the measure i 1.87 cm, would be the length of golf clubs would be right or I need a couple extra length? http://www.amazon.com/TaylorMade-R9-Iron-Set-thru/dp/B002SDJNLE/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1266368253&sr=1- 8 http://www.amazon.com/Callaway-8-Club-4-Iron-Graphite-Regular/dp/B001ULC4Y8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1266367628&sr=8-1
First things first. Find out what your swing speed is. This usually dictate the flexible shaft to be made. The bad flex will definitely hurt your game. In Second is graphite versus steel shafts. Graphite shafts, in general, will give a better distance and be easier on the hands, while steel shafts will shorter but more accurate (a sort of washed away, but steel rods are less expensive). Last but not least, do not buy a set by name. TM and Callaway do great clubs, but for a beginner you may want to look into something else. There are many companies, including Adams, who make large sets for beginner golfers. They are very forgiving and hit quite long. With the money you save to go out and take some lessons. Expensive clubs are useless without a good swing. And do not forget to find a good stick. This club can be your best friend or your worst nightmare. If possible go to a sporting goods store with a simulator. This displays the speed of your swing and give you an idea of how clubs feel when hit. Good luck to you.
